regret (n.) or (v.)

{As if it's not completely evident already, I'm obsessed with words and their definitions.}

as a noun: a sense of loss, disappointment, dissatisfaction

as a verb: to feel sorrow or remorse for

I was driving today in the beginnings of the randomly nasty snowfall we are experiencing in NE Ohio and our businesses came to my mind... Where would we be if I had stepped in and done my part...? And the word "regret" came through my mind... "Man, I regret not stepping up sooner.. Not helping out more.. Not giving it my all..."  And then, of course, I started applying the regret to other areas of my life.. My wifeliness, my spiritual life, my friendships, etc...

Ok, what am I going to do with this "regret..." Could it be considered regret.. (I think so, but I also want to make sure I'm not being overly dramatic about this...)  I think the lesson for me to learn here is, what am I going to do NOW... Because my past does not equal my future.  Will I decide to move forward and realize that I can grow because of this, or do I remain stagnant and wallow...?

I choose the former...

    You live in NE OH?! I live in NW PA! I feel like most of the bloggers I come across come from exotic lands like San Francisco and Minneapolis and other places I've never been to. Pretty cool. Also, I enjoy definitions, too! :)
